Often, the way of solving it we choose is the way that\u2019s easiest, or that doesn\u2019t (seem to) cause as many other problems (for us).<\/p>\n<p>And lots of problems never get solved. In a now famous early trial which is\u00a0Behavioural Insights Team annual report, we found that adding a single line in a letter to people who hadn&#8217;t got around to paying their tax boosted repayment rates by around 15 percentage points.
